Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
| 16227 | Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe | 1935 | $39.99 | ||
|
A truly wonderful tumbler from the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe. This item appears rather delicate - tapered toward the base, and featuring a band of eight horizontal, needle-etched lines, broken once to allow for the placement of "Santa Fe" in the distinctive and instantly recognizable script lettering used by the railroad. Condition is excellent. There is one extremely tiny rough spot along the rim - so minor, it almost escapes mention. The glass is crystal clear, with no residue. Simply a beautiful piece! |

B & O
| 12712 | B & O | 1960 | $199.99 | ||
A delightful after dinner coffee cup and saucer, featuring B & O's famous Centenary pattern. Both pieces bearing a Scammell's Lamberton China backstamp, dating the items as pre-1949, when the contract to produce the decoration was granted to Shenango. As is seemingly typical with the A.D. cup, the foot is a hair too large for the saucer well, and does not nest perfectly in place. The cup exhibits a manufacturing flaw at the base of the handle, which looks, at first glance, like a hairline crack. However, examination under magnification reveals that this was extant prior to glaze firing. A charming example of this famous pattern. |

Missouri Pacific
| 11076 | Missouri Pacific | "The Eagle" | 1954 | $58.99 | |
A beautiful fruit bowl from Missouri Pacific's "Eagle". We located several of these bowls in excellent condition - no cracks, chips, or hairlines - dated between 1951 and 1954. A lone example is without the railroad backstamp, but the topmark renders this inconsequential. Very fine examples of this very collectible railroad china. |

Mitropa
| 11081 | Mitropa | 1960 | $60.00 | ||
A wonderful piece of German railroad china - a teapot from Mitropa. This piece shows minimal signs of use, and is complete with an interestingly designed lid, which may have been intended to double as an under liner. We might have thought the two pieces to be mismatched were it not for the fact that we located two identical teapots! Very nice. |

Railway
| 15571 | Railway | 1900 | |||
|
Though not railroad china per se, Portland Pottery's "Railway" pattern is collected by many railroadiana aficionados. This colorful transfer ware is quite decorative, featuring a 19th Century locomotive and coaches, set before a country hillside. This is non-vitrified ware, and often exhibits surface crazing; however, this is not considered to be greatly detrimental, and will not be noted unless the integrity of an item is compromised. |

St. Louis-San Francisco Ry. - "Frisco"
| 16056 | St. Louis - San Francisco Railway | 1940 | $79.99 | ||
|
A beautiful linen tablecloth from the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, featuring a lovely acanthus motif border decoration, and a large "Frisco" logo at center. The impressive logo measures 9½" across, with the railroad's full name: "St. Louis-San Francisco Ry" below. Condition is excellent, with no tears, wear, or repairs evident. Close examination will reveal some very pale staining in some small areas, which is almost not worthy of mention as it does not detract from a piece that should be expected to have seen repeated use. Apparently intended for a "deuce," or small table for two, the cloth measures 34¾" square. For those of you who might wish to use this item, and who don't have a tiny, dining car-size table, it would be a simple matter to place it at center on top of a larger linen tablecloth to cover a larger area. Also, at the time of listing, we have two examples available, which can, of course, be used in tandem. As we know that digital photography will not be able to record the delicate, white-on-white damask pattern, we hope you will take our word that this is an excellent example in very nice condition, and would make a wonderful backdrop for your Syracuse "Denmark" pattern china! |
