Alaska Steamship Company
| 15965 | Alaska Steamship Company | (unknown) | 1920 | $12.99 | |
A dramatic real photo card of an Alaska Line vessel at Columbia Glacier. Credited to Photocraft of Cordova, the image is labeled on the negative. Though we can't be certain, the vessel may be the Aleutian. The card is unused, and exhibits only a slight bump to the corner at lower left. A great image! |
Alcoa Line
| 16625 | Alcoa Line | Alcoa Cavalier | 1959 | $15.99 | |
A very nice image of the Alcoa Cavalier at sea on this card. The card bears a message and a Venezuela stamp, but no postmark. We have seen very few examples of this card. |
| 10019 | Alcoa Line | (unknown) | 1960 | $7.99 | |
A rather unusual card from the Alcoa Line. The card features a somewhat stylized map of the Caribbean, with the Alcoa logo at upper right. Unused, and in very nice condition - just a tiny bit of corner wear. |
American Export Isbrandtsen Lines
| 14927 | American Export Isbrandtsen Lines | Atlantic | 1965 | $5.99 | |
An aerial, portside view of the Atlantic at sea. Though this card exhibits a corner bump at lower right, it remains a very nice, color photo image of the vessel. Not postally used. |
| 16508 | American Export Isbrandtsen Lines | Independence | 1965 | $8.99 | |
A color photo card from the Independence, issued by American Export Isbrandtsen Lines. Minor wear evident to the lower corners on this unused example. |
| 10858 | American Export Isbrandtsen Lines | Independence & Constitution | 1967 | $6.99 | |
A great color photo of the aft pool & sun deck aboard either Independence or Constitution. A full buffet is being served, though one would guess that those in the photo are merely models, and not actual passengers. Postmarked at Mallorca, Spain - the date is faint, but appears to be 28 April, 1967. |
American Export Lines
| 16515 | American Export Lines | Constitution | 1951 | $10.99 | |
A nice linen postcard from the Constitution. This example is not postally used, and exhibits only some light corner wear. A very nice artist's depiction of the vessel as she originally appeared. |
| 10048 | American Export Lines | The Four Aces | 1938 | $24.00 | |
This is a truly interesting set of six cards - all sites of interest which one could visit when cruising on one of the "Four Aces". The cards are labeled as such on reverse, and appear to be brightly tinted photos - typical of the period. Unused, and all six near mint. |
| 10049 | American Export Lines | The Four Aces | 1938 | $7.99 | |
This is one in a series of linen cards produced for American Export's "Four Aces', picturing sights one might see while touring the Mediterranean on board one of the sisters. This unused card pictures the Mosque of Omar at Jerusalem. Near mint. |
| 10050 | American Export Lines | The Four Aces | 1938 | $7.99 | |
The Eternal City Seen from the Dome of St. Peter's. Another tinted linen card from a series produced for American Export's "Four Aces". To this point we have seen 8 different views, but the numbering sequence indicates more may have been issued. Unused, with very light soiling on reverse. |
| 10051 | American Export Lines | The Four Aces | 1938 | $7.99 | |
This tinted linen card shows the Church of the Nativity. An excellent, unused example of one of a series of cards issued for the "Four Aces", which show various points of interest one might visit during a Mediterranean cruise aboard one of the sisters. |

| 10054 | American Export Lines | The Four Aces | 1938 | $7.99 | |
An unusual tinted linen from the "points of interest" series - unusual in that it is a vertical format image, and the colors appear a bit more pastel and "realistic" compared to the other examples seen from the set. Unused, near mint. |
| 10055 | American Export Lines | The Four Aces | 1948 | $8.99 | |
A wonderful linen illustrating one of the famous post-war "4 Aces", and advertising their fortnightly sailings to the Mediterranean. Excellent condition, unused. |
| 15608 | American Export Lines | The Four Aces | 1948 | $15.99 | |
An exceptional and difficult to find linen card for the "new" 4 Aces of the American Export Line. This card features a great portrait of one of the quartet of vessels. Apparently based on a photograph, a Mediterranean style sailing vessel has been "placed" in the foreground to indicate the vessels' intended ports of call. Not postally used, and with good corners; there may be the faintest hint of age toning or foxing in the sky area, but this is of minimal consequence. A very nice card! |
American Line
| 16517 | American Line | Philadelphia | 1898 | $19.99 | |
A rare, unused private mailing card from the SS Philadelphia of the American Line. Undivided back, and slightly undersize, as is typical of the period. Some pale toning, tiny specks of foxing, and faint marks from scrap book hinges at the corners. Still a nice example of this card. |
| 10059 | American Line | Philadelphia | 1901 | $27.99 | |
A wonderful card from American Line's Philadelphia - a post 1900 image which illustrates the vessel minus one of her original 3 funnels. She appears with Netley Hospital in the background. Some light soiling on this rare, unused card. |
Atlantic Transport Line
| 12997 | Atlantic Transport Line | Minnetonka | 1929 | $29.99 | |
A very rare vertical format card from the inimitable Charles Dixon, featuring one of Holland-America's tenders at Boulogne, pulling away from the starboard side of an ATL vessel. Written on March 9, and posted two days later at the Victoria Docks. A light cancellation smudge on the face at lower left, but this does very little to detract from this striking card. |
Belfast Steamship Co.
| 10499 | Belfast Steamship Co. | Ulster Monarch | 1950 | $11.99 | |
A wonderful illustration by John S. Smith of this little 3,800 ton liner, which ferried 400 passengers from England to Eire. An uncommon card, unused in very good condition - showing minor corner wear and light soiling on reverse. |
| 16526 | Belfast Steamship Co. | Ulster Queen | 1932 | $12.99 | |
A portrait in blue monochrome of the Ulster Queen of the Ulster Imperial Line, also known as the Belfast Steamship Company. Not postally used, and very clean both front and back. An unusual (at least here in the US) card! |
British Railways
| 12175 | British Railways | Invicta | 1950 | $7.99 | |
A very nice aerial photo of British Railways' Invicta passing through the breakwater at Dover on her way across the Channel. Possibly a late departure as the ship seems to be traveling at a high rate of speed! An unusual card, unused and in excellent condition. |

| 10095 | Canadian Pacific | Empress of France | 1955 | $11.99 | |
This is a wonderful line issued card, bearing CPR's beaver logo on the reverse. A black & white real photo of the 1st Class Library aboard the Empress. A very nice example, bearing both a Paquebot & Liverpool cancel, 19 July, 1955. Small "bumps" to the corners - still very good. |
| 10850 | Canadian Pacific | Empress of Japan | 1930 | $14.00 | |
A great real photo card featuring a light sepia toned image of the Empress, printed in a vertical format. The vessel's name, line, and tonnage appear in the lower border. There is what appears to be a pin hole at left, near the ship's bow peak, however the paper has been pushed back into place, and one cannot actually "see through" the card. Unused, with light soil and corner wear. |
