Admiral Line
| 13225 | Admiral Line | H.F. Alexander | 1924 | $24.00 | |
A nicely illustrated bit of ephemera from the famous "Hot Foot." Luncheon on board the H.F. Alexander on Sunday, August 3, 1924. This small menu was meant to be folded, sealed, and mailed - which indeed it was. The top and bottom edges appear a bit rough, but this is merely where the sealing "flap" was cut to open the menu after receipt. A rare item from this famous vessel! |

| 13226 | Admiral Line | H.F. Alexander | 1924 | $24.00 | |
A very nice illustration of British Columbia's Parliament Building at Victoria graces the cover of this dinner menu from the famous H.F. Alexander. The menu touts the vessel's famous scheduled run between San Francisco and Seattle of 39 hours noting: "That's Speed!". The edges of the piece appear a bit rough, but this is only due to the fact that the item has been folded, sealed, and mailed as it was intended. A great piece from old "Hot Foot." |

Alaska Steamship Company
| 14452 | Alaska Steamship Co. | Glacier Queen | 1957 | $16.99 | |
|
Josephine Crumrine's portrait of "Rye" appears on this dinner menu from the SS Glacier Queen. The Alaska Steamship Company offered limited fare and a set menu, which (unfortunately) allowed them to issue menus undated - annoying when one is accustomed to finding a printed date! Condition of this example is excellent. |

A wonderful example of the elegant china service used on board Independence and Constitution in the 1960's. This deep maroon plate bears the clipper logo at center, and is rimmed with a gold band. Manufactured for the line by Mayer China. We recently acquired four examples, each showing utensil marks, but miraculously the logos have remained near-perfect, and the rims show only light wear. These had obviously been treasured mementos, as each had had a circle of felt carefully applied to the bottom. |

A truly lovely demitasse spoon from APL. These were manufactured by International Silver Co., and appear to be of an earlier design than any of the other APL flatware we are currently offering. | 12831 | American President Lines | (unknown) | 1955 | $47.99 | |
A wonderful piece of silver plate from International Silver for the American President Lines. We are not exactly certain what this piece was designed to hold; whether it was for cream, syrup, honey, or some other condiment. The spout is extremely small - almost nonexistent. As with a majority of items with attached underplates, this piece has survived in excellent condition. The chief reason for this is that the attached plate prevented other items from getting close enough to bump it! There are two minor spots on the base, which are just beginning to show signs of minor pitting, otherwise the plating is very, very nice. We often bemoan the fact that, with the exception of flatware, APL seemed loath to apply their logo to silver plated items, but at least they did backstamp them! |

Chandris Lines
| 15031 | Chandris Lines | (unknown) | 1965 | $74.99 | |
|
A great pair of salt and pepper shakers from Chandris. These items are restaurant grade china with underglaze decoration, and are most certainly from the on board service. Both marked "Made In England," the salt exhibits two, small flakes on the base. We must tell you that salt & pepper are indeed intact within (this may or may not be of Chandris origins)! We had intended to remove the contents; however, the original rubber stoppers, though 100% intact and undamaged, have become hard and brittle, and would likely crumble were they to be tampered with, so we have left them "as is." The topmarked house flag matches perfectly the china of the period. A very unusual example of steamship china! |

The ubiquitous Rörstrand butter pat, made in Sweden with the Clipper Line's 'Griffin' logo. Amazingly, two sets of one dozen each came to us still bundled and tied with a pair of pale blue ribbons and a small label which reads: "Made in Ireland".
