An exceptionally impressive souvenir piece from Richard Ginori for Alitalia. This tray features a wonderful portrait of one of the airline's Caravelle jets in flight. The bow and arrow logo appears above, and the airline's name below. Condition is extremely fine, with nearly imperceptible wear to the gold rim and decoration. A rare and attractive piece! |

This is a delightful little souvenir dish from Richard Ginori for Alitalia. Apparently part of a series illustrating early flying machines, this example features what appears to be the Wright Brothers' biplane. The airline's name appears on the reverse. Just a hint of nesting wear, otherwise excellent. |

American Airlines
| 16666 | American | 1950 | $39.99 | ||
|
A great promotional booklet from American - undated, but apparently from the late 1940's as a "new peacetime service" is noted. Sixteen pages, profusely illustrated with photos and graphics. The booklet was intended as a traveler's guide, and contains a variety of information regarding customs in a number of different countries. The booklet is stapled at the spine, and all pages are intact. There is a small pen mark on the cover graphic, otherwise excellent overall. |

Bisch Airways
| 15993 | Bisch Airways | 1960 | $24.99 | ||
|
A large advertising ashtray for Bisch Airways. We have yet to uncover any information regarding this carrier. We would place this item as circa 1960's, and it is similar in some regards to pieces produced by Delano Studios, though no markings are extant. Exhibiting some wear to the gold rim, otherwise free of nicks, chips, cracks, or any other physical damage. |

Boeing
| 16476 | Boeing | 1962 | $14.99 | ||

A tiny but wonderful pewter tie tack that appears to be, as near as we can tell, in the form of a Boeing 707. In its original case, and apparently unused. A neat accessory for the aviator! |

Braniff
| 14076 | Braniff | 1960 | $34.99 | ||
This is a wonderful little tin, made in Holland, with colorful lithography recording the history of flight from the hot air balloon on the lid, to the spanking new Braniff El Dorado 707 on the front panel. The airline’s name appears on the edge of the lid, above the jet. We are assuming that the tin originally contained Dutch chocolate, but there is (unfortunately) no evidence remaining! A delightful piece! |

An exceptional example of the Rolex (Japan) cigarette lighter produced circa 1960 and advertising Braniff's "El Dorado" Super Jets. An incredibly detailed portrait of the Boeing 707 appears on one side of the lighter, and a North/South America route map appears on the reverse. Minimal signs of use and wear. A very nice example of 1960's Braniff advertising! |

We are always pleased to be able to locate one of these bags from the 1970's in one of Braniff's famous "JellyBean" colors. This example is bright green, trimmed with white piping and lettered in lime and white; an outer pocket on one side. Condition is excellent overall. The bag exhibits some minor scuffing and contact marks on the lettering as a result of use. Some wear is apparent to the stitching on the underside of the strap as well, just as one might expect. No major stains, tears or punctures. A truly great bag! |

| 15758 | Braniff | 1970 | $2.99 | ||
|
An assortment of matchbooks in Alexander Girard's "jelly bean" colors: lemon yellow, lime green, hot pink, mandarin orange, columbine blue, ivory, and jet black. This decorating scheme was adopted by the airline circa 1968. These matches came to us in their original, round, clear plastic display box. A number of books were missing, or we most certainly would have offered the piece intact, as it makes for a great visual! Should anyone be interested in acquiring the container, you will find it listed on the item page as a separate item. |

Delta
| 16437 | Delta | 1959 | $29.99 | ||
|
A great portrait of the Douglas DC-8 Jetliner in Delta colors. This is the second of two recently acquired - this example exhibits a 2" vertical tear in the lower margin, which stops 1" below the image. We have reinforced the area with archival tissue on the reverse in order to prevent further migration. A small stain at the upper left corner is the only other noticeable flaw on this piece. The overall dimensions are approximately 20" x 16", and the image measures 10½" x 15". The artist's signature appears as McCarty at lower right. Wonderful! |

A beautiful black and white official promotional photograph of Delta's Douglas' DC-8 Jetliner N801E. A caption attached to the reverse notes that the jet was put first into regular scheduled service by Delta on Sept. 18 (1959) between New York and Atlanta. The 10" x 8" photo is in excellent condition, exhibiting only a light vertical crease at far left, just aft of the aircraft's horizontal stabilizers. A very nice shot! |

This is a great artist's rendering of the Douglas DC-8 Jetliner in Delta colors. We were delighted to discover this item, and several companions, tucked behind the framed portrait of an L-1011 - obviously the frame had been in use for some time (owned by a former Delta employee) and the older portraits had simply been slipped behind the newer ones. This example is in very good condition, exhibiting only some very light soiling in the margins, and very light creasing and evidence that the piece had been rolled at one time - very minor! The overall dimensions are approximately 20" x 16", and the image measures 10½" x 15". The artist's signature appears as McCarty at lower right. Wonderful aviation art! |

An exceptionally nice portrait of the Convair 880 in Delta colors on this official portrait. The caption notes that the jet was the world's fastest airliner at the time. This piece of advertising art was found tucked behind the later portrait of a Delta L-1011, and has remained in very nice condition. It was printed on heavy, glossy stock, and shows only some very tiny creases - evidence that it may have been rolled at one time. The overall dimensions are 20" x 16", and the image itself measures 17" x 12½". Very minor and nearly imperceptible soiling in the outer margins, otherwise excellent and ready for a frame of its own! |

An official promotional portrait for the Lockheed TriStar. The image appears to be a model of the Delta jet superimposed on an actual photograph of clouds and sky. Printed on a 20" x 16" sheet, the actual image measures 14¼" x 10". This example exhibits some light soiling in the margins, and a small tear at the lower edge - something a mat and frame would easily remedy, as the image itself is in excellent condition. The reverse of the piece features a cabin plan, three interior renderings, and text describing the aircraft's stats and features. |

A beautiful black and white photo of the Lockheed L-1011TriStar in Delta livery. N701DA would fly for Delta for 10+ years, and then go on to serve for a number of other airlines such as Egypt Air, Air Algerie, and ATA. Her final passenger flight was in 2003, and information at hand indicates she is currently stored at Roswell. The photo bears Delta's official stamp on the reverse, and an accompanying sheet of paper (once attached, but now separate) offers a caption regarding the inauguration of L-1011 flights from Los Angeles. It also notes the aircraft's passenger capacity, cruising speed, and nearly two-football-field length. A great image! |

A wonderful portrait of the Lockheed TriStar in Delta colors. It appears as if this is a composite image, with a model of the jet superimposed on an actual photograph of clouds and sky. Printed on a 20" x 16" sheet, the actual image measures 14¼" x 10". This particular example is missing the upper right corner, and there are a couple of nicks along the bottom edge.
