12269 Swedish American Line Kungsholm 1929   $8.00

A neat little menu from SAL. This is the first in a large collection of menus which feature wonderful illustrations of Swedish castles. One wonders how many different castles are illustrated in this series, but we can tell you there are at least 13! This would make a delightful collection framed, though by doing so one would miss the treat on the verso - a magnificent portrait of Kungsholm at sea. The menus in this collection span six years of travel, and this example, being one of the earlier menus, shows the ship with her original black hull - this has been altered to white on the later menus. Condition is excellent. This menu, featuring Borgholm Castle, was presented to the table on May 3, 1929.

12271 Swedish American Line Kungsholm 1929   $10.00

Farewell Dinner aboard Kungsholm, 5 May, 1929. The cover of this menu features an image of Skokloster Castle, while the reverse bears the ship's portrait - very difficult to decide which is the most attractive image, though we always tend to vote for the ship! Excellent condition.
