Truly the most delightful of the series of Macouillard watercolors - who can resist the trio of Koalas, perched in their Eucalyptus tree. This is "Australia," presented to diners for the Commodore's Dinner, held on board on April 28, 1960. Extremely nice condition.

Macouillard's "San Francisco" on the cover of this menu, presented to the table for the "Bon Voyage Dinner." It is likely the ship was west bound, sailing for the islands. When opened, the menu must be rotated 90º, as the text is printed along the long axis, perpendicular to the cover art. The scene is described on the reverse. A faint hint of soiling at upper right, else an excellent example.

Who can resist these charming Koalas perched in their favorite Eucalyptus tree as captured by Macouillard for the cover of this menu, presented to the table for the Captain's Dinner, held on 13 March, 1967. The menu text within is oriented along the long axis of the menu, so one must open it, and then turn it 90º. With the exception of a small, pale stain at lower right, this example is excellent.

A selection of specialties from south of the border for the "Fiesta Night Dinner," held on board Lurline on 14 March, 1967. The cover art is Macouillard's "Southern California." This pairing of menu and artwork seems infinitely more appropriate than that of "New Zealand" and "Bavarian Night," which was also acquired in this lot! A couple of small and very faint thumb prints within; otherwise this is a beautifully preserved example.

A gem of a menu from SS Lurline, featuring our favorite Macouillard illustration, "Australia." If you happen to like Koalas, this is indeed the menu for you! This example was presented to the table for the Captain's Dinner, held on board on February 16, 1969. As with the other menus acquired from this voyage, the menu selection is printed lengthwise, opposing the cover illustration. Showing a tiny thumbnail crease along the bottom edge, else extremely nice!

A near-mint condition dinner menu from Mariposa, presented to the table on April 12, 1970. The cover features Macouillard's "Samoa," and this particular example is truly excellent, with brilliant color. A fine example of the wonderful artwork commissioned by Matson.

The cover of this dinner menu from Mariposa, presented to the table on April 10, 1970, features Macouillard's "Fiji." With the exception of a light food stain at the edge, lower right, and a light crease to the upper right corner, this example remains in very nice condition.

Dinner on "Meridian Day" on board Mariposa, April 11, 1970. We acquired another menu from Mariposa bearing the same date but with an entirely different menu selection. This is a result of the vessel crossing the International Date Line, requiring two dinners on the same "day." A delightful memento of an event which could only occur at sea!

Aloha Night Dinner aboard Matsonia on 7/28/60. The cover of this menu bears a beautiful watercolor image of a Southern California landscape. Very slight corner bend - excellent.

One of Macouillard's most charming menus - "Australia" - featuring a family of Koalas clinging to a native tree. Dinner on 9 October, 1969, while the ship was steaming westward from Los Angeles to Bora Bora, at the beginning of an extended Pacific cruise. A near-pristine example.

A special menu for the "French Dinner" aboard Monterey during her Pacific crossing from Los Angeles to Bora Bora. Macouillard's "Tahiti" decorates the cover of this menu, presented on 10 October, 1969. Gorgeous and near mint.

A special menu for the "Kia Ora Dinner" served aboard Monterey while the vessel was enroute from Rarotonga to Auckland, New Zealand on 18 October, 1969. In addition to Macouillard's "New Zealand", which appears on the cover, a delightful Kiwi Bird appears inside - though it appears that pigeon was the only fowl actually served; (unless you count the Foie Gras!!).
