Though we rarely accept a damaged figure for our catalogue, occasionally an item comes along which is so exquisite that its beauty transcends any flaws. This is one such figure. A rare and lovely court figure which, though unmarked, we believe to be a product of the firm of Gerbrüder Heubach. She measures just under 5" in height, and is beautifully modeled. A very similar, though larger figure attributed to the Heubach firm appears in Marc & Shona Lorrin's book, "The Half Doll." The doll illustrated (pg. 70) is of a larger size, has a blue bodice instead of pink, does not have a rose applied, and unfortunately has had both arms replaced. An unclothed sister-figure is illustrated as well, along with her catalogue illustration. As to the flaws on this particular item, a single rose petal, between the flower and the doll's hand, has been broken off - as this is on the bottom of the flower it detracts minimally. She also has a small, 4.5mm flake on the bottom edge of her base. This is near the center of the reverse side, so not visible when displayed. Were she perfect, we would not hesitate to place a $500 price tag on this lovely lady. |

This delightful figure with arms wide-spread appears in the Encyclopedia, page 210, attached to an elongated pin cushion. Here she is unclothed and unattached, and a truly charming little lady! Numbered 4881 on her un-glazed base, and sporting a lilac-colored bow in her grey, powdered hair. She is in perfect condition, and though her thumbs and fingers might appear a bit shortened, they are not rough or broken, and are as they were when she left her makers'. At 2¾", not a large figure, but her expression is wonderfully rendered. Quite nice to find this one! | SOLD

This lovely lady is numbered 22674 near the bottom edge of her base on the reverse side. She is in immaculate condition, her delicately modeled fingers and hands intact. A larger version of this model appears on page 226 of the Encyclopedia. This figure measures 3½" in height. She has a striking expression, due in part to the irises of her eyes, which appear to have been left un-colored. Very nice! | SOLD

A very popular figure, and one can easily see why. Simply designed, but with great character and a hint of color. One wonders, though, of the challenges for the purchaser who had to dress these Flappers, as one usually associates the 1920's with minimalist fashion! Impressed "Germany" on her lower back, but un-numbered. Excellent condition. | SOLD

A very collectible, and in the case of the decoration applied to this particular example, an exceptionally striking model - know as "Mrs. Siddons" after an 19th Century Gainsborough portrait of the noted English actress. Here we see her clothed in magnificent violet. Her hat is a light tan with a wide, white band, a large violet bow, and three plumes: two violet and one yellow. Her shoulders are draped in yellow and white. This marvelous costume certainly seems appropriate for a star of the stage. "Made In Germany" appears in raised lettering on the front of her base, and she is numbered either "3379" or "3319." She measures 4½" in height and is in immaculate condition. See page 271 in the Encyclopedia.

This delightful and poly-chromed bisque model is quite unusual. She appears on page 139 of the Encyclopedia, however the authors have failed to mention that the figure illustrated is broken - at least she is without a portion of her fan. Attributed to the firm of Karl Schneider, due to the "GH" one finds cast into her mold, in addition to "Germany" and the number 12287. The decorator of this particular figure chose to color the lower portion of her base, which seems a bit unusual as it would undoubtedly be hidden by her skirt when dressed. Perhaps he or she wished to indicate that a blue skirt was appropriate! The positioning of this young lady's left arm has caused her fan to have a bit of a bend just above her pale yellow-gloved hand. The arm position is quite a bit different than that of the figure pictured in the Encyclopedia, and it just may be that the fan on that figure was simply omitted. |

An extremely sought-after model in the world of half-doll collecting. This is due not only to her inherent beauty, but also to her ephemeral form. One is more often than not disappointed when an example of this elegantly posed dancer is found, as her delicate fingers were prone to damage. We are truly delighted to be able to offer you an absolutely perfect example of this classic half-figure. She is nude, cast in pink slip. Her shadowed eyes are dramatically rendered, and rendered especially well on this magnificent model. Her drop earrings and bracelets are red-orange, and her neck is encircled by a string of gold beads. Her mold bore the number 17039 and "Germany", and she is pictured in the Encyclopedia on page 141 as well as on the first page of the color photo section. She is a medium-sized figure at just under 3¾" to the top of her head, but her arms stretch 5½" from finger tip to finger tip. A centerpiece for your collection! | SOLD
