For those of you who may have The Collectors' Encyclopedia of Half-Dolls in your library, a "sister figure", incised "3343" appears on page 515. half doll thumbnail An adorable child figure, with her hair braided and coiled at the sides. Both arms are raised, and one might certainly have placed the handle of a basket in the crook of her left arm. Her rosy blush is somewhat mottled, giving her the appearance that she might need to wash her face! She is very nicely incised: "Germany" across her back, but not numbered or otherwise marked. SOLD

child half figure thumbnail This dainty child figure has her golden ringlets tied with a pair of pink bows. She has a charming expression. She is incised: T.P. 101. The Collectors' Encyclopedia of Half-Dolls would have us believe that this would indicate she was manufactured by Goebel. We have listed her as such as she may well have been. But as it seems that "Tee Puppen" or "Teekannen Prunkfigur" was a term applied to these figures in general, we have seen no evidence presented to indicate that no other maker marked their dolls similarly. In addition to her incised marks, on can see a small portion of the word "Germany" stamped in red ink across her lower back. A sweetheart with an impish smile!   SOLD

half figure thumbnail A lovely court lady half figure with the most incredibly delicate thumbs! One wonders how these could have possibly survived extraction from the mold - likely many did not! We hesitate to mention that this figure appears on page 285 of the Encyclopedia as the photo was taken from a peculiar angle, illustrating none of this doll's graceful beauty. She is incised: "Germany 21634". Her condition is perfect. SOLD
