A truly wonderful little clown figure. She, (or he) has a peaked cap which flattens just at the top, with two large black buttons. The ruff is black on top and along the edge, but white underneath. The expressive face is delightful! Just a small smudge on the right cheek where the decorator's brush must have touched while painting the ruff. Incised: "14171 Germany". A charming figure!

This very lovely and colorfully costumed lady is incised: "Germany 1521". "Germany" also appears as a small circular stamp, in red ink, within her base. Her head is crowned with blue plumes, and her décolletage is set off by a rose with orange leaves. Her light brown curls drape her shoulders, and she holds a folded yellow fan. Quite an attractive figure. | SOLD

We were pleased to locate this interesting figure holding an exceptionally large bouquet - we were amazed to discover a second example, though with a pink bodice, in the same shop! Incised: "Germany 1522". Interestingly, MW note a 3" example of this model incised with the same number, but there is no doubt this figure measures over 3¾"! | SOLD

The second of two of these figures we discovered on the same day, in the same shop! This figure wears pink with blue beads, and her sister: blue with green beads. This figure has what appears to be a small flake on her base, but this could be a factory flaw. Either way it is quite minor, and she is excellent otherwise. Incised as her sister: "Germany 1522". Colorful! | SOLD

A rather large head-only figure at 2½", and gorgeously decorated. This model appears on page 537 of the Encyclopedia, and it is noted that the physical characteristics likely indicate a Pierrette, rather than a Pierrot. This figure has a closed base with a small vent hole at center. She is incised: Germany" and "75", and was also stamped "Germany", but this is extremely faint, perhaps faded. With the exception of two small, errant specks of black glaze on her white cap, she is in exceptional condition, and is a magnificent example. | SOLD
