The ubiquitous Spanish dancer; unquestionably the most numerous, if not the most popular model imported into the US. This particular example is in extremely nice condition. Her features are well executed, and she has a delightful and tiny beauty spot on her chin, which may or may not be intentional! Incised "5063 Germany". A nice example of this popular model. She is incised "5829 Germany" on the reverse. It is difficult to tell if she is wearing a string of beads in her hair, or if the beads are indeed trim on some type of cap. Her head is cocked expressively to the right. An attractive figure. | SOLD | ||||

young lady is holding a small green and white fan, and wearing a narrow blue
headband. Though examples of this figure are known to be numbered, this particular lady is incised
""Germany" only. Eyes nicely positioned and rendered. A perfect example of this figure. |

A delightful figure with a green-trimmed bodice. Her hands are at the sides of her neck, with her elbows held away from her body. Incised "5230" clearly, with "Germany" barely visible along the bottom edge of her base. Very nice condition. | SOLD | ||||

This magnificent little lady, a Category C figure, illustrates the care with which these figures were decorated. She is embellished with no less than 13 different colors, 5 of which appear on her large, open fan. The decorator even went to the lengths of painting the large bow at the front of her bodice, which is almost entirely hidden behind the fan. Due to the extreme undercut of her plumes, these had to have been applied details. Incised: "Germany", but with no other markings. There are some small, red marks inside her base, but we believe these were probably made by the decorator putting a point on his or her brush! Her condition is perfect. |
