white star line item detail
Pattern description: This pattern consists of a beaded swag design with an additional chain of beads within a band near the rim. At center (saucer) is the "OSNC" (Oceanic Steam Navigation Company) logo. All decoration is blue.
Pattern notes: The pattern registration number is 461740, which indicates that the pattern was registered during 1905. British registration numbers should only be used as a general indication of an item's date of manufacture as the patterns were often produced well after and, in some cases, prior to the registration date. This basic (stock) pattern design was produced in a number of colors, of which White Star is known to have used blue and brown. There is also a photograph in the Myra Yellin Outwater's Ocean Liner Collectibles which illustrates the pattern in black.
