| Pattern description:
This pattern features a stencil and airbrushed design representing the
harbor at Rio de Janeiro, with Sugarloaf in the background. Additionally,
a colorful underglaze decal of a pair of bleeding heart flowers and leaves
appears. Smaller items, such as A.D. cups and saucers, have merely the
flower and a grey, airbrushed rim. Submitted by: Cabin Class Collectibles Pattern notes: Steamship company backstamps are commonly seen on items in this pattern, but one is absent on the example illustrated. Also, the 1973 date code on this piece is a bit puzzling, as we had not thought that this china was in use as late as the 1970's The principal Mooremack passenger vessels, SS Argentina and SS Brasil, were laid up in 1969. Perhaps the pattern was retained for the officers' mess aboard Mooremack's cargo vessels?
