lougher line item detail
Pattern description: This pattern features a very large, belted logo (1½") containing the line's house flag. The name "S.S. Borderer" appears within the belt, at the top. This prompts us to name this the "Borderer" pattern, as we are not aware that any china from this line has been previously identified. In addition to the logo, the rim is decorated with a blue band and a narrow blue line. Another line girdles the piece, and still another can be found at the base. On this particular item, which features a "twisted" rope handle, the sculpted detail has been further accented with short, diagonal blue lines spaced approximately 3/8" apart. The logo is over-glaze decoration which has had the red-orange color of the flag subsequently applied by hand, the texture of the brush strokes being clearly visible.
