home lines item detail
Pattern description: This pattern consists of a modified "Greek Key" design which forms a 3/16" band. Appearing once within the band is the steamship company's logo - castle battlements with three turrets formed into the shape of a crown. The decoration is grey on white china.
Pattern notes: Home Lines' connection to the Swedish American Line was reflected in their logo, as well as in their name. The three turrets and crown are an extraction of SAL's three-crown logo, and the name "Home", was taken from the "holm" suffix common to SAL vessels; Stockholm, Drottingholm, Gripsholm, etc.
