eastern steamship item detail
Pattern description: This pattern consists of a geometric "chain" design in green, measuring a bit over 1/16" in width. Topmarked with the line name, we will let the image describe it! On this large platter, the logo measures 2 1/8" across.
Pattern notes: Buffalo China manufactured a very similar pattern for Eastern Steamship Lines, known as "Eastern Green". It is quite obvious that these two patterns were intended to be intermixed, but when examined side-by-side, there are distinct differences between them (most certainly intentionally done to avoid copyright infringement) so we have used a numerical distinction in this case. The pattern name "Ravenna" was given to this particular border design by Syracuse, and the backstamp includes a 1919 copyright date.
