Pattern description: This pattern consists of very colorful decal decoration which exhibits a slightly Oriental influence. The bird more closely resembles a Golden Pheasant, however the name "Bird of Paradise*" is commonly used when referring to this pattern. A single red line is also applied as additional decoration to most items in this pattern, though on this piece the top edge, the edge of the lid, and the lid's knob are all lined. One can find 1920's brochures which show this china in use aboard RMS Aquitania, though one should not infer that the pattern was exclusive to that vessel. The item pictured is marked "Souvenir", and was intended for sale in the on-board gift shop.
