Body Color:
White
Decoration: Black, multicolor
Pattern Description: Underglaze decal decoration consisting of a
continuous vine of exaggerated floral designs, the chief element of
which is a large, orange & white petunia-like bloom. Somewhat
reminiscent of Pennsylvania Dutch designs; plates can be found with
a large spray center. A black line is placed outermost. Body color
is white. Circa 1920's-1940's.
Notes: A striking pattern, found on ivory body as well. A variation
of "Sorrento" (center spray only) was used by the Great
Northern Railroad, and a unique combination of the
"Sorrento" spray paired with the "Encanto"
border appeared on the tables of Fred Harvey concerns. |
