Body Color:
Tan
Decoration: Dark blue, green, red
Pattern Description: Hand painted brush stroke decoration,
suggesting leaves and berries, in the Quimper pottery style. Blue
lines are placed outermost and innermost to border the pattern. Tan
body; early examples feature the "Adobe Ware" backstamp.
1940's-1980's.
Notes: A beautiful example of the artistry of Syracuse's decorators.
Picardy is a lovely pattern. The outermost line on early examples
features inward "jogs" at intervals, but is continuous and smooth
on later examples. |
