Pattern Description: A narrow band in red with geometric designs in
brown, broken at intervals for the placement of multicolor floral
sprays in blue, yellow. orange, and green. The flowers are rendered
in a slightly cartoon-like style. 1930's-1950's.
Notes: An extremely bright, lively, and colorful design; records
indicate that Old Abbey was a "controlled"
pattern for the Claridge of Atlantic City. This meant that it was
not available to other customers in and around Atlantic City, New
Jersey, but was open stock for customers in other areas of the
country. |
