Body Color:
White
Decoration: Blue
Pattern Description: Transfer print border decoration featuring
wreaths, ribbons, acanthus, and draped beads. All decoration blue
on white body. 1920's-1940's.
Notes: The transfer print on this particular variation of Adam tends
to blur a bit. This is due, no doubt, to the cobalt content of the blue
pigment. Though non-exclusive, this attractive pattern (copyrighted in 1926) is documented as having
been used by the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad for a
brief period circa 1937, and is
therefore sought after by collectors of railroad dining car
memorabilia. |
