Body Color:
White
Decoration: Orange, brown, grey, green
Pattern Description: Orange toned blooms on grey-green branches, with
a keyed border design in brown; the "Indian Tree" appears
at the center of larger items; e.g. plates. 1920's - 1950's.
Notes: Indian Tree is one of the most recognizable of all china patterns,
and can be found decorating commercial as well as domestic
dinnerware. Variations are seen in the application of the decoration
- some cups appear with the keyed border both inside and outside the
rim (see image) while others have this border applied only to the
outside. Handles can be decorated either with a decal, or a
hand-painted line. Produced with minor color variations by
a number of makers, and used in the dining cars of a number of
railroads. |
