Pattern Description: Print and hand fill decoration, featuring fruit,
floral, and berry motif in yellow, red, teal, olive green, columbine
blue, and black. Yellow band on edge, adjacent to fine black line.
Body color is white. Circa 1940's-1960's.
Notes: A pity we do not know the designer of this incredible
pattern! Especially wonderful is the grapefruit slice in the saucer
well! This example appears to be entirely hand painted; however,
we have seen later examples decorated with underglaze decals. A
truly delightful design - we will be ardently searching for more
examples! |
