Body Color:
White
Decoration: Dark green
Pattern Description: Acanthus vine with floral medallions and a
geometric border in dark green on white body. Bowls (oatmeal) are
found with the decoration both inside and out. Circa 1930.
Notes: Known to have been used by, and often backstamped for Horn & Hardart,
the well-known company which operated a chain of automats in
Philadelphia and New York. Horn & Hardart used
a number of very similar patterns, all in green on white and easily
mixed. Mayer's "Medallion" is one example. Mayer's
"Marion" pattern is virtually identical to
"Nassau," and we have yet
to discover the reason why two names were applied to the same
pattern. |
