Oriental Restaurants - Gang

A
mainstay on Main Street in Porterville, California (70 miles
southeast of Fresno) since it opened in 1949, the original structure
that housed Gang Sue's was recently demolished. The restaurant
apparently closed in the mid-1990's after almost 45 years of
operation. We have noted as well a ca. 1930 photograph in the
Porterville Library archives of Gang Sue's Tea Garden, and we
surmise that this was the restaurant's predecessor. "Desert
Ware" body, simply decorated with a maroon line/band and
transfer print.
