An
incredible piece of china by Bauscher Bros. for the famous St.
Charles of New Orleans, Louisiana. This noted hotel (the third to be
so named) opened in 1896, and was razed in 1974. A wonderful image
of the hotel appears on this piece, flanked by sprays of cotton. The
reverse features the hotel's crest and motto, placed between sprays
of wheat and sugar cane. Certainly an item of which few examples
were produced. An exceptional piece of New Orleans history!
