Rare
topmarked ware from Buffalo China. We can only assume that "The
Genesee" is indeed the old Genesee Hotel, once located in
Buffalo, New York. Until recently, the Genesee Bar stood on the same
location at the Hyatt Hotel, Buffalo. However, reports indicate that
recent renovations have removed this establishment, which had been
named after the original hotel. White china with green and rust
lines. The crest features a large peacock with tail spread, and
"The Genesee" below. The demi listed below (#15359) has a
tiny spoon scar (star crack) within the cup, which affects the glaze
surface only, and does not penetrate the china.
