Beautiful
china from Syracuse, bearing a copyrighted design and crest for the
Commodore Perry. The hotel was located in
Toledo, Ohio, Decoration consists of a decal band in orange, black,
rust, and green. The custom crest is amazingly detailed, featuring
the Commodore's ship, the
"Lawrence", flying a flag bearing Lawrence's well-known
quote: "Don't give up the ship." Another quote, this one
from the Commodore himself, appears on a banner below the vessel:
"We have met the enemy and they are ours."
